Broccoli Spears steams fans at MTV’s Video Music Awards

Pop singer Broccoli Spears made a shocking appearance on MTV’s Video Music Awards last week. Looking plump, flaccid and awkward, an overdone Broccoli bumbled her way through a routine more in keeping with a high school musical than the performance of a seasoned professional.

Audience members visually cringed at this plate of Broccoli. Celebrities who, just prior to the evening’s performance begged skeptical viewers to withhold judgment, left quietly without addressing the media. Their earlier comments; “We’re here to see and support Broccoli. Give the little vegetable a chance,” needed no follow-up.

Always an acquired taste, Broccoli has been in the news a lot lately for her less than savory ways. As incidents of her erratic comportment piled up, her mother was quoted as saying, “I never braised her to be this way.”

MTV has said it will wait another season to see if Broccoli has grown in a more tasteful direction. “No matter how you slice it or dice it, we’re not ready to make any decisions about Broccoli right now,” an official stated, “We thought she was ready for public consumption, but we were wrong.”

Broccoli and her family, the Brassy-caceae were steamed and had no comment on her performance or the reactions to it.
